Original Artwork

A few commonly asked questions regarding original artwork.

An original artwork is a piece of artwork that is hand painted by me. Due to the hand painted nature, it is an original and there will never be another one exactly the same.

Once an original painting is sold, it will never be in stock again. You will be the proud owner of a very special one-of-a-kind artwork!

I release original artwork in collections several times throughout the year. To be notified of when I'm releasing a new collection and get special VIP early access, please sign up for my newsletter.

I retain all rights to all artwork I create. This includes the rights to the image of sold & commissioned original paintings. I retain the right to make REPRODUCTIONS OF ANY AND ALL ARTWORK I CREATE UNLESS THE COLLECTOR HAS PURCHASED THE FULL OR PARTIAL RIGHTS TO THE ARTWORK (this is in addition to purchasing the original).  

The Collector or buyer may not reproduce the artwork in any way without written permission. 

If the artwork ends up being reproduced in a magazine or other media, all I ask is credit (And congratulations! that means your home is gorgeous!). I would love to know if my artwork has made it into a publication, so please email me and let me know!

When you purchase an original painting, the collector, have the right to display the artwork in your home or business, but the artwork may not be resold or reproduced without my written permission.

A certificate of authenticity is an official document that proves the artwork is genuine and authentic. Also, in the event that the artist's work increases in value over time, a COA acts as a physical document that tracks the provenance of the work, thus proving an increase in value.

Art Prints

A few commonly asked questions regarding art prints.

It is a fine art print reproduction of the original painting. It is printed with a super duper fancy printer, using quality archival inks and paper so that it will last a lifetime. Very often, the prints are mistaken for the original painting!

I currently offer 8x10, 11x14, 12x16 and 16x20. The sizes listed are the largest sizes I am able to currently create, as the image quality and the delicacy of the details are very important to me. 

If you are interested in filling a large area of your wall with my artwork I recommend putting together a collection of 3-4 pieces.  I offer collector discounts on multiple prints.  Email hello@lovebyphoebe.com to discuss that and I can put together a custom listing for you.


A few commonly asked questions regarding commissions.

The most common commissions I take are for bridal bouquet paintings and portrait paintings.

From time to time, I do take on special commission projects. However I accept them on a case by case basis, depending if I feel the subject matter aligns with my own style and current workload.

I currently accept floral, landscape and venue painting commissions, in addition to the above.

Shipping and Turnaround

A few commonly asked questions regarding shipping and turnaround times.

Original Artwork: Original artwork typically ships out within 7-10 business days. You will receive an email notification once your original artwork is in the mail.

Art Print: Each art print is printed on demand and cut by hand. Please allow up to 5-7 business days for the prints to ship out. You will receive an email notification once your art print is in the mail.

Custom Bouquet Paintings and Portrait Paintings: These typically take 4-5 weeks to complete, unless otherwise agreed. You will receive an email notification once your artwork is in the mail.

Special Commissions: All other commissions may take up to 3-4 months. This will be discussed and agreed upon during our commission agreement. You will receive an email notification once your artwork is in the mail.

All artwork are usually shipped with Expedited Parcel Canada Post, unless arranged otherwise. Below are the typical shipping time frames:

Within Lower Mainland: usually within 2 business days

The rest of British Columbia: usually within 2-3 business days

The rest of Canada: usually within 5 to 7 business days

USA: usually within 7 to 10 business days

Rest of the World: usually within 7 to 10 business days

Please note there maybe unprecedented delays with some deliveries to certain countries (including USA) due to the halted movement with commercial airlines as a result of COVID-19. I apologize for the delay and ask that you be patient and understanding, and give your deliveries a bit more time to arrive.

Customs and Duty for International Shipping:

Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I am not responsible for delays due to customs.

I typically use Canada Post to ship all parcels using the Expedited Parcel option, unless otherwise agree.

Other shipping carriers I might use are UPS or FedEX.

Returns and Exchanges

A few commonly asked questions regarding returns and exchanges.

Every order, commission, and sale is handled with the utmost love and care. My goal is for you to be completely thrilled with your purchase!

Original Art & Commissions: All sales are final.

Art Prints: All sales are final, with exception to certain cases (i.e. wrong print was shipped or quality control issues). Please email hello@lovebyphoebe.com to discuss any concerns you may have.

I am not liable for any mishandling or failed delivery by the shipping service (Canada Post, FedEX or UPS, domestically or internationally), and I am not liable for any damage incurred post-delivery. I work hard to package each order with care in sturdy flat mailers and tubes so that it arrives undamaged, and I suggest you handle your new artwork with care when framing and stretching. Please be kind when reaching out and remember that I do not work at or run the post office, Fedex or UPS, and I have no control over the treatment of your package in transit! If it were up to me, I would deliver it on the wings of an angel! I put a lot of effort in produing and packaging the artwork, so it is just as much of a bummer for me to see damaged prints as it is for you to receive them. For more details please read more here.
